Noblest minds have finest feelings;
Quiv’ring strings a breath can move;
And the gospel’s sweet revealings
Tune them with the key of love.
Hearts so sensitively molded
Strongly fortified should be,
Trained to firmness and enfolded
In a calm tranquility.
Wound not willfully another;
Conquer haste with reason’s might;
School thy feelings, sister, brother;
Train them in the path of right.
(School Thy Feelings)
We are taught by both living and ancient prophets that the last days are tumultuous and confusing times. This hymn makes me think about the power we have to stay calm and focused and happy despite our circumstances. When we build ourselves upon the rock of Christ, not only do we have this power, but we become sensitive to the regular murmurs of the Spirit of God. What is something you could change this week to build yourself upon the rock of Christ and repent.?
This week we met an Indian man who benefited from this truth. He is 19 and has spent the last year of his life in a foot brace and crutches because of a work accident and has seen very little progress. He has been separated from his family since he was 16, and grew up with strong Hindu beliefs. He also, for the last year, has been seeking out Christ. I have never seen a man so peaceful and content as he is. You could feel his power even though we were surrounded by 100's of people.
We love you, and enjoy the springtime! Unless you are in Australia haha.
