CANADA Week 96-May 28, 2019

Elder Petit.
The Lord is constantly showing us His love if we are looking for it. It has been sweet to see how He blesses us according to our faith and diligence. One of these examples happened this week when Pierre Yves and Armand (who took a trip to Utah) just happened to meet with Elder Gong at church. They were baptized in Quebec just about 2 months ago, and speak very little English, but I am sure that they felt his love.

The Lord invites us all to come unto him and promises us that His hands are always outstretched. We need to remember Him in all of our doings so that we may say like Nephi, ''I know in whom I have trusted.''

This week we became a trio. it has been fun to add Elder Newman into the mix, and we have had some incredible experiences. We have seen that God prepares His people to receive His word. All we can add is our faith and strength and minds.

We love you! From Around the world haha. (Elder Newman-Scotland, Elder Fourie-Australia, Elder Wilson- Idaho). A tantot!

CANADA Week 94-May 14, 2019

My mom sent me this picture last week that pretty much explains her goodness and the laziness of her sons (Asher and I haha). Early every morning before school she would bring up her scriptures and read to us. Asher would walk over to my room from his room and lay on my bed, and I didn't even move. We would both listen (sleep) as she read to us. It's possible that I don't remember much of what she shared with us, but the example of diligence and love she set for me has made a lasting imprint on my life. I love her, and she taught me the power of a righteous example for those who are too unengaged to listen.

Lehi says to his rebellious sons, "Awake, my sons; put on the armor of righteousness. Shake off the chains with which ye are bound, and come forth out of obscurity, and arise from the dust."

Asher and I just had to arise from my bed, and that was hard enough haha. But God has promised to help us come unto Him.

We saw an example of this principle in a couple we teach. Robert and Barbara are going through a trying stage of their life, because Barbara has recently been diagnosed with cancer that has quickly spread to several locations throughout her body. She is in pain, and has started chemotherapy. She said, "God has helped me to forget my dependence upon drugs, and brings me peace through His written word. I know that He will help me again."

I truly know that God is our Father, and that He desires our happiness. He suffered through the death and torture of His perfect son, so that we can all be healed. Go to Him and be happy.

We love you!

I went back to an old area, and saw Odette and Jhonel!

CANADA Week 93-May 7, 2019

We had a cheese adventure.

Noblest minds have finest feelings;
Quiv’ring strings a breath can move;
And the gospel’s sweet revealings
Tune them with the key of love.

Hearts so sensitively molded
Strongly fortified should be,
Trained to firmness and enfolded
In a calm tranquility.

Wound not willfully another;
Conquer haste with reason’s might;
School thy feelings, sister, brother;
Train them in the path of right.

(School Thy Feelings)

We are taught by both living and ancient prophets that the last days are tumultuous and confusing times. This hymn makes me think about the power we have to stay calm and focused and happy despite our circumstances. When we build ourselves upon the rock of Christ, not only do we have this power, but we become sensitive to the regular murmurs of the Spirit of God. What is something you could change this week to build yourself upon the rock of Christ and repent.?

This week we met an Indian man who benefited from this truth. He is 19 and has spent the last year of his life in a foot brace and crutches because of a work accident and has seen very little progress. He has been separated from his family since he was 16, and grew up with strong Hindu beliefs. He also, for the last year, has been seeking out Christ. I have never seen a man so peaceful and content as he is. You could feel his power even though we were surrounded by 100's of people.

We love you, and enjoy the springtime! Unless you are in Australia haha.
