CANADA Week 92-April 30, 2019

The highest part of Montreal.

Experiences:
-Kofo, Yewande, and Glory were baptized. Because of crazy circumstances and the will of God we were able to get back in touch with their parents, and will be teaching them as well.

-We are teaching a man who takes painkillers every day because he got hit by a Caribou and has 6 hernias in his neck and back. I have never met a more grateful person.

-Gift and Abiodun are joying in the light of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and have started finding family names to take to the temple. They are from Nigeria though, so Family History records are almost nothing, so if anybody has ideas as to how we could help them, let me know.

-We met a man who went to see President Nelson when he came here to Montreal almost a year ago. He knew that he is a prophet, and testified of the truth of the church, even though he isn't yet a member. The spirit of God teaches all truth.

Sorry time is short, but we are seeing miracles. God blesses us, and teaches those who have ears to hear and eyes to see and the desire to remember. If you look, His hands are in our lives every day.

Alma 37
44: For behold, it is as easy to give heed to the word of Christ, which will point to you a straight course to eternal bliss, as it was for our fathers to give heed to this compass, which would point unto them a straight course to the promised land.
46: O my son, do not let us be slothful because of the easiness of the way; for so was it with our fathers; for so was it prepared for them, that if they would look they might live; even so it is with us. The way is prepared, and if we will look we may live forever.

CANADA Week 91-April 23, 2019

Rooftops of Montreal.

Sorry for being the worst at emailing, and now I don't know where to start as to what has been going on here in Montreal, but I can say that God is good, and things are warming up.

During the Easter Season my thoughts have often times been drawn back to the life, death, and Resurrection of Jesus Christ. We just met an old guy named Guy from Scotland on the way here to the library, and he asked us, "Cest quoi le mot qui fait en sorte quon croit en Jesus Christ?" (What is the one word that makes us believe in Jesus Christ?) He proceeded to say, "La resurrection." Which you can probably figure out haha. Christ prepared our eternities over 2000 years ago when He broke the bands of death, and it affects you TODAY. How can we better follow Him?

Tad R Callister said, "For those few moments in the eternal spectrum called mortality the Savior yielded to the mortal plight; He submitted to the inhumanity of man; His body longed for sleep; He hungered; He felt the pains of sickness.  He was in all respects subject to every mortal failing experienced by the human family.  Not once did He raise the shield of godhood in order to soften the blows.  Not once did He don the bulletproof vest of divinity.  That He also had godly powers did not make His suffering any less excruciating, any less poignant, or any less real.  To the contrary, it is for this very reason that His suffering was more, not less, than His mortal counterparts could experience.  He took upon him infinite suffering, but chose to defend with only mortal faculties, with but one exception - His godhood was summoned to hold off unconsciousness and death that would otherwise overpower a mere mortal when He reached his threshold of pain.  For the Savior, however, there would be no such relief.  His divinity would be called upon, not to immunize him from pain, but to enlarge the receptacle that would hold it.  He simply brought a larger cup to hold the bitter drink."

We are staying another transfer, and we are excited to see miracles. The church Easter service was wonderful. An old man came and brought his flask of wine to drink with him haha. Remember to remember Christ with your thoughts, actions, and words.

CANADA Week 89-April 9, 2019

I have felt God's love this week as I heard and felt the truth of the words of His prophets. It was a great blessing to listen to them.

Elder Rasband taught on the importance of building strong families and compared it to a castle or fortress. As we take time to ponder upon the messages shared during this conference session, seek ways to apply the words of prophets in your daily lives. You will build your fortress around the watchtower of a prophet, and you will be safe.

I ate some dried dates this week, and they looked disgusting, but tasted good. Our friend who gave them to us promised us that they were delicious. They taught me a little bit about trust, and the importance of being open to new things.

I went back to Montreal est for a day, and I had messaged one of my good friends named Henso multiple times, hoping to see him before I left. He never responded, but we felt as if we needed to go, so we went. When we arrived, a faith filled member named Jhonel prayed that Henso would be there. We felt confident walking in, and when we knocked, Henso`s brother, Nickel opened the door and looked pretty shocked.
He proceeded to inform us that just a few minutes before he had prayed for us, and then we came. As we sat down to talk with him, the front door opened and Henso walked in.
In the space of a few minutes I had seen Heavenly Father loving respond to both the prayers of Nickel and Jhonel. All of us were humbled with the timing of the Lord.

Speak with Him. He is listening. He will answer.

I love Montréal, and I love April snow! Thank you for your prayers, and remember Jesus Christ today!

CANADA Week 88-April 2, 2019

Bonjour!

We just went to this massive church and explored for a while, so time is short...

This week Abiodun and Gift and Faith were all baptized. It was fun for me to see that no matter how many times you have to dunk someone under water (for Abiodun it took him 5 to go fully under) when we do the will of God the Holy Spirit testifies to our spirit the truth and goodness of what we are doing. He came out half drowned and had to get baptized forwards, but I have never seen him so happy.

When Jesus Christ came to visit the ancient people in the Americas, His arrival was announced by His Father:

"3 And it came to pass that while they were thus conversing one with another, they heard a voice as if it came out of heaven; and they cast their eyes round about, for they understood not the voice which they heard; and it was not a harsh voice, neither was it a loud voice; nevertheless, and notwithstanding it being a small voice it did pierce them that did hear to the center, insomuch that there was no part of their frame that it did not cause to quake; yea, it did pierce them to the very soul, and did cause their hearts to burn.

4 And it came to pass that again they heard the voice, and they understood it not.

5 And again the third time they did hear the voice, and did open their ears to hear it; and their eyes were towards the sound thereof; and they did look steadfastly towards heaven, from whence the sound came.

6 And behold, the third time they did understand the voice which they heard; and it said unto them:

7 Behold my Beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased, in whom I have glorified my name—hear ye him"

Then Jesus Christ came and taught the people His doctrine. But the people had to be actively engaged in listening.

This weekend the President of the Church of Jesus Christ and the Apostles of Jesus Christ will address the world. They will speak the words that Jesus Christ wants us to hear. How will we prepare ourselves to listen to that voice? How can we align our lives and actions with the will of God? I hope that you are all ready to make the most of their counsel.

We love you and have a great week!

The baptism.
