This little stud Gambo... He wants to be a missionary. |
Salut friends and fam!
Yes Mudda I have a little bit more time today . . . haha sorry about last week.
These last 2 weeks in Sherbrooke have been awesome. First off it was like 20 degrees today and literally I think it was the first time I have been hot in about 6 months haha. There is still snow on the ground but it doesn't have much time left! So Elder Tarati is finally starting to feel a little more comfortable (in Tahiti it is normally in the 80`s all the time) but he still sleeps under blankets with a beanie and a hoodie and sweat pants haha. He's crazy.
The king.

Elder Tarati got a little tired in between our visits. |
Elder Tarati loves pizza, and we named her Elder. |
We've been doing lots of service lately (because pretty much everybody in Canada moves every year) and the exercise feels good haha. Wayne (our friend) even came to one of the moves and got to meet more of the members. He wants to become a member of the church and visit the temple, we just need to help him figure out some details first. We also have been having a lot of fun this week, because we have tried to teach our friends in the members houses as often as we could. It is so powerful to feel and hear a members testimony, especially if their family is there. So don't be afraid to open your doors and invite people to come in! You will be surprised to see the difference it makes.
It's kinda funny how time passes when you are serving. Sometimes the days take forever and sometimes weeks pass without me even noticing. After 8 months in Canada sometimes it feels like I haven't learned very much. But one powerful truth has become rather clear to me as I have started to live the principles that I know to be true. Amid all of the distractions and the good things and the great things of my mission and of the world, there is only one thing that really matters. And Elder Holland summed it up in the 2017 conference by saying, "I would hope we could pursue personal improvement in a way that doesn’t include getting ulcers or anorexia, feeling depressed or demolishing our self-esteem. That is not what the Lord wants for Primary children or anyone else who honestly sings, “I’m trying to be like Jesus.”
Life becomes simple when we ask the question, "What would Jesus do?" And that is something that will never change. He is the light and the life of the world. I love you all, and let me leave you with one of my favorite scriptures... "These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world." (John 16:33)
Have an awesome week and BE OF GOOD CHEER!
