CANADA Week 73-December 19, 2018

Hola le monde! Sorry Pday got pushed back a day, and will be Wednesday the next 2 weeks. This week finished off the transfer, and I was blessed to light up Quebec for another transfer with Elder Rossi :) We got lots of stuffs to do haha. This Christmas season has been a great one, and we hope you all have some goals and plans in mind for Christmas and the upcoming year.

This week I finally got to see President Nelson's address during the Christmas devotional, and he asked some pretty changing question to teach the simple doctrine that God gives unto us what we desire. He asked simply, "What are your desires?" I think that if we honestly reflect on what it is that we desire we can see why we are in the situation that we are in, and what we need to change to be in a better place. I know that if we desire to follow Jesus Christ, God will clear the way so that we may do so. I know that if we follow Jesus Christ we are blessed and prospered and happy. So I hope you all think about Him and follow Him with Christmas coming so soon.

Also, we went and ate at an all you can eat sushi place today with a member, and we ordered WAY too much because of unfortunate circumstances, but if you don't finish it you have to pay more. So we dug in and I am in a state close to death as I write this haha.

I love you all and I love the Canadian people with all my heart. I am happy to be here, and I see the Hands of God while doing His work every day. Don't forget to look for them. Merry Christmas!!!!!!!!

Love,
Elder Wilson

CANADA Week 72-December 11, 2018

Reunited with Elder James!

Allo les gens! This is the first time I have really been able to reflect upon everything that happened this week, and it is humbling to see the goodness of God in my daily life as a representative of Jesus Christ. He is my light and my joy.

We took a road trip to Drummondville this week, and I got to spend some more time with Elder Eggenberger! It was a little wild, because he had arrived in Drummondville just 3 days before, and he didn't have any information on the people in the area, so we just went out and taught those people that The Lord wanted us to. We got into some pretty weird places, and met some incredible people. It was fun to laugh and learn together, and we even tried to set up a soccer night with a bunch of young men from Africa haha. It is wonderful to see how people naturally think more about Christ during the Christmas season.

Rafael was baptized and received the gift of the Holy Ghost this weekend. We have seen his heart change, and have experienced literal miracles with him as he progressed in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I can honestly say that as we follow Jesus Christ we are happy. Rafa is happy, and made many sacrifices to have that joy.

We had zone conference, which means 8 elders in our apartment for the night, so our fridge was emptied and it was a blast haha. We were all able to share experiences that we have had this Christmas season. It was great to learn from them all at the conference, and President and Sister Phillips motivated us and showed us their love as they taught. You are going to have to give them a warm welcome when they get home Mudda, they will be back just a little bit before me.

We invite you all to read the Christmas story (Luke 2), as well as Alma 7:7-13. Think about the unfathomable gift that Christ has given us, and what you could give to Him during this time when we celebrate Him.

We love you!

CANADA Week 71-December 4, 2018

We moved in an African family for Light the World service day.

Hullo! Sorry I actually have 0.1 seconds because we are headed off to Drummondville tonight, so I will keep it short. I wanted to let you know that God gives us what we desire and if we have high expectations for this life we will harvest incredible rewards. We taught a wonderful man named Raphael, and he was struggling with a question, so we promised him that he would receive his answer, kneeled down with him then, and he simply received his answer. God is there, and his promises are real. we just need to follow through with our part. We love you!

CANADA Week 70-November 27, 2018

Last meal before heading back to Quebec.

Salut! I don't know why I am already writing you all again, it feels like that was literally 2 days ago. But things are going great here in Quebec, the snow is high, and the arms of God are extended to His children here. We made a big road trip all the way to Rimouski this week to learn from some Elders, and I love Canada! It is beautiful and full of incredible people, and the weather always reminds us that we probably should have put on our snow tires earlier haha.

As missionaries I don't think it is possible to explain how incredible our experiences really are. While thinking about the experiences that God has given me, it made me realize that my life had always been a gift from Him, but I was too distracted to appreciate it. Mormon, a prophet in the book of Mormon emphasizes this simple truth when he teaches,

"Yea, and we may see at the very time when he (The Lord) doth prosper his people...then is the time that they do harden their hearts, and do forget the Lord their God..." (Helaman 12:2).

This week I am going to write down one small experience that I had with God every day, and share them with you next week so that I can remember Him. What will you do?

Thanks for your prayers and love, it keeps Canada warm for us haha. We love you!

CANADA Week 69-November 20, 2018

Vieux Quebec.

Hullo le monde!

My hands are a little frozen, and I don't have a lot of time, so forgive me in advance haha. We just got back from Vieux Quebec, and it was pretty awesome. It was crazy to see that there were still tourists there even though it was slightly chilly . . . we saw the hands of the Lord though, because as we were rolling out we saw some ladies struggling to get up the hill with their luggage, so we helped them out. It turns out that they are from Washington DC, and they are here in Quebec for 4 days. It feels good to be able to help others, and I hope you are all ready to get to work for Light the World this winter. It will be a bright place with your help!

We had some crazy experiences this week, and literally I am a witness of God our Father answering our prayers. He loves you, and He wants to help you know that He loves you. We visited a sister in our ward named Soeur Paquette when i first got here. We talked with her and she told us that she was worried about her kids and grandkids who never came to church . . . so we wrote down their names, and prayed for them with her every night for about a week. She called us at the end of the week, and told us that God had exalted our prayers. William her grandson called her that week telling her that he felt as if he needed to come back to church. He came this Sunday, and had a wonderful experience. God is aware of His children here in Quebec just like He is aware of you.

I second the invitation of Alma to his son Helaman:

"Counsel with the Lord in all thy doings, and he will direct thee for good; yea, when thou liest down at night lie down unto the Lord, that he may watch over you in your sleep; and when thou risest in the morning let thy heart be full of thanks unto God; and if ye do these things, ye shall be lifted up at the last day." (Alma 37:37)

Elder Rossi and I are witnesses, and we promise that as you counsel with our God this week, you will see miracles, and you will hear His voice as you strive to listen.

On vous aime. Bonne semaine. Profitez de ce temps.

CANADA Week 68-November 13, 2018

We explored a freezing waterfall and had to climb about 3000 stairs to get there. We got completely drenched, but it was sweet!

Hullo from Quebec!

I got here, and all of a sudden it is winter haha. It has been a blast reuniting with Elder Rossi, and sometimes it feels like nothing has changed since Sherbrooke last year. But he has grown a lot, so it has been great learning from and with him. He has been here for about 3 months, so he is starting to really get to know the area, which is literally about the size of Idaho... its only been a few days, but we have already met some incredible people and eaten some interesting food. God loves to make us experience new things haha.

This week I was reminded again and again of how clearly God's presence can be in our life, and how quickly we forget. God wants us to remember these experiences. Satan doesn't. It is our job to hold tightly to these incredible witnesses from God, so we can say, I know what I saw or heard or felt, and nothing can change that. Jesus Christ testifies (Mosiah 24) that he makes His influence clear in our lives so that we become witnesses of Him. How does your life witness of Jesus Christ?

Quebec is chilly and it gets dark around 4 haha, but Elder Rossi and I are resolute and bright in our hopes and faith for our next 6 weeks together. We will see and live miracles, and I hope you all see miracles in your lives this week! I love you!

CANADA Week 67-November 6, 2018

Bonjour!!!

To start off, I have no time, because for the first time in over a year I am blessed to be able to go to the temple. so we don't have time for emails today...

Also, malheursement (sadly) I will be leaving Haiti and going to Quebec. I am both excited and sad for this change. The people of Montreal have changed who I am, and I am sure that I will continue to change with the people of Quebec. I am pumped for my companion though. Funny enough, I will be going with Elder Rossi again haha. I love him, and I am ready for another winter with him.

I wanted to share with you the conviction I have of the power of the Spirit of God to change the hearts of men. We are supposed to grow and change during this life, and I know that through our faith we, like the people of King Benjamin in the Book of Mormon, can have a mighty change wrought in our hearts that allows us to desire to do good continually (Mosiah 5: 2-4). Just a few days ago we read that scripture with our friend Henso and he realized that his life had changed because he allowed it to. Because he accepted Jesus Christ.

I love you all, and I hope you will search opportunities to do good. I have lots of pictures because I was saying goodbye.
